Tomorrow I leave for Europe for 3 weeks – specifically Germany, Netherlands and Belgium. I’m surprised at the number of people who have expressed genuine interest in following this trip with me, with several requests for a blog as well as of course lots of pictures on Facebook.

I’m not necessarily the best picture taker, or best Facebook poster – I tend to be enjoying what I’m doing when I’m doing it and not thinking about posting it! But since this is the first time I’m leaving the country (for some reason I don’t count a couple of days spent in Vancouver/Victoria in 1995), I figured I could commit to one picture a day.

And I promised one friend in particular I would check out blogging resources before I left and see if that is doable. That process led me here. I had no idea Google had a blogging tool, although I can’t say I’m surprised. So I will play with it this afternoon while I’m doing laundry and packing and see if I can figure it out in time to do a decent travel blog starting tomorrow.

Did I tell you I’m leaving for Europe tomorrow for 3 weeks? So excited I’m vibrating.

This picture doesn’t have anything to do with anything except that I wanted to test uploading one. It was taken yesterday of me and my friend Tracy celebrating my 50th at Bistro 33 in Davis. And we hatched a plan for some fun long range goals, which include, among other things, me writing more.

I’d forgotten until I was editing this this morning that we’d talked about writing during that breakfast. And away we go! I love you and our friendship….
